there are so many garages in athens... so many that i wanted to draw a connection between their way of driving and parking and the need of repair... maybe six weeks in athens (and observations) is not enough to make such a statement. but maybe it is...

i wanted to talk about the heavy traffic in athens, about them not taking care of pedestrians crossing, about motorcyclists without helmets... but doing that with a photo of a parked and hidden car?!

i met her just briefly in palermo in 2009. she was with one of my friends. we both shared a fascination for life-like mannequins. she did a lot of photographs of them and i told her about my final year project at college when i used one of them.
she was only a year younger than me and died from cancer...

ahens from above... there are plenty of hills that you can climb up to have a great view over the city. i took this photo at the beginning of my stay when it was still up to 40 degree celcius during the day. not a wise idea to go for a hike when it is that hot but it was worth it.
you can notice the akropolis on the right and there is piraeus in the distance by the coast.

Athens

from late august until mid october i stayed in athens... . apart from a few days i spent most of my time strolling around town and photographing.. my camera fell down once, cracking my film back and leaving a light leak behind.. you will notice...

i guess i will try to post a photo a day of my time there...

there is this gaze that goes nowhere. a moment when she abandons herself and others around her. blackout. you cannot talk to her any longer. she is lost and doesnt recognise you anymore. it is herself she is swearing at, and others to fill
